DirecTV Sets a November 28th Launch Event For DirecTV Now

directv_logo_4195DirecTV Now is holding an invitation-only event on Monday, November 28 in New York City to “celebrate the launch” of the new OTT-TV service.

Now this may not mean you will start to stream on Monday November 28th. Sources have told us that this is likely a event to just release more details and start preorders. Again take this with a grain of salt as it is possible the service will start streaming on November 28th but we do not expect anything more than a announcement.

The invitation says the press conference will begins at 4 p.m. ET, with product demos to follow at 5 p.m. ET for press. AT&T is also using the #MoreTVFreedom hashtag to promote the service.

AT&T, purchased DirecTV last summer and has said that it intends to launch the service sometime in November, with a starting price of $35 per month for a lineup of 100-plus channels. Yet they have faced issues along the way from contract issues to the FCC having serious concerns over the proposed zero rating option.
