DIRECTV has long been known as a satellite TV company. Recently though it has heavily been pushing its via internet option that offers the same package and devices as satellite but streaming over the internet.
This move to streaming helps DIRECTV cut costs by not needing to send installers to peoples homes and if someday all computers are moved to streaming it will allow them to stop maintaining expensive satellite systems and launching new satellites.
To help reach that goal slowly DIRECTV has been pushing its Via Internet version of DIRECTV vs its satellite version. TO help this new campaign in partnership with Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders joins Henry Winkeler and Steven Busmcemi in a new national TV campaign to pus the service.
“America fell in love with Bobby and Frank when we made them the stars of our nationwide campaign earlier this year to educate consumers that DIRECTV is available satellite-free,” said Vince Torres, chief marketing officer at DIRECTV. “With Coach Prime, we’ve added a new confident and very astute bird to the flock who expresses his excitement over how DIRECTV delivers an unparalled watching experience to sports
fans.”
This via internet service is similar to DIRECTV STREAM but you use DIRECTV equipment. For now DIRECTVis offering both streaming services but has been heavily promoting its via internet option.
