DIRECTV Reaches a Deal to Restore Cox-Owned Local ABC, CBS, FOX, & NBC Stations Before The Super Bowl

Today, DIRECTV announced that it has reached a deal to restore Cox-owned local ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC locals just in time for the Super Bowl. In total, 12 Cox-owned local TV stations are now coming back to DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, and U-Verse and will be live before the kick-off of the Super Bowl today.

DIRECTV & COX released a joint statement saying:

Cox Media Group (CMG) and DIRECTV have officially reached a new multi-year agreement that will restore all CMG stations on DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM and U-verse, effective immediately.

DIRECTV and CMG greatly appreciate the patience of their subscribers and viewers.

This deal ends an 8 day standoff that resulted in 12 local TV stations going dark on DIRECTV owned services. No details about the new contract have been announced.
