Watching TV, Watching, Living Room, Domestic Life, SmilingTonight DIRECTV NOW emailed DVR testers to notify them at starting at midnight PST their DVRs will be down for maintenance The down time is expepected to be done around 10 am PST tomorrow.

Here is a copy of the email:

Good Afternoon Testers,

We’re currently upgrading a few things for the beta app, so you may experience intermittent playback issues for live and DVR streaming until tomorrow afternoon.

We also have a scheduled Cloud DVR maintenance that begins at midnight PST tonight.  We anticipate that we’ll be done at 10am PST tomorrow.  During this time, any recordings scheduled for this timeframe will not be recorded.  You also may not be able to play any of your recorded content as well.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience as always.

Thank you,

DIRECTV NOW Beta Team

It will be interesting to see what AT&T does with the upgrades. All signs are pointing to the DIRECTV NOW DVR coming out soon. (Though still likely sometime early maybe around CES 2018.) Recently DIRECTV NOW has been sending out invites to a growing list of users to test out their DVR. All signs point to AT&T running a final stress test on the new DIRECTV NOW app and DVR.

It is very likely that AT&T is in the process of getting the back end ready to hold up to a flood of new users.
