DIRECTV NOW Upgrades Their FS1 & FS2 Streams

One of the main sports fans’ complaints against DIRECTV NOW has been the fact that some sports channels have only been in 720p. AT&T has been slowly upgrading them to 1080p—just in time for the MLB playoffs.

Late last week DIRECTV NOW upgraded both the FS1 and FS2 to 1080p, allowing you to have an even better streaming experience.

DIRECTV NOW is not the only one upgrading their streams. fuboTV started offering select events on FS1 in 4K. DIRECTV NOW has promised 4K support in the future, but we still have no set date on when that will happen.

You need to do nothing to get the 1080p on FS1 and FS2 with DIRECTV NOW. Your DIRECTV NOW device will automatically upgrade to offer the new higher quality image. Hopefully, DIRECTV NOW will continue to roll out 1080p and 60 frames per second to more channels as they improve their live TV streaming service.

Recently services have started to use features like 4K and 1080p to stand out from others to get you to subscribe to their service. Look for this to become more common in the weeks and months to come.
