DIRECTV NOW Has Started to Add Meredith Owned CBS Affiliates

If you live in a market with a Meredith Owned CBS Affiliate you may want to check your guide. Today Cord Cutters News started to receive multiple reports from our readers that if you search for CBS shows in a Meredith market they now show up in the DIRECTV NOW guide.

Now the stations are not live yet but guide data is being uploaded to DIRECTV NOW starting December 1st, 2017. DIRECTV NOW has a history of uploading guide data about 24 to 48 hours before a channel goes live. (On rare occasions a little longer.) In this case that lines up perfectly with a December 1st or later launch.

Now, this may not mean all Meredith owned CBS affiliates will go live this week. Recently DIRECTV NOW has not been waiting to add every affiliate at once from a company but adding them as they are ready so its likely not all Cox Media and Tegna owned affiliates have been added.

DIRECTV NOW has made it clear that adding local affiliates is a priority. Every week they have been adding a few locals here and there. DIRECTV NOW is not alone in their efforts to add local TV to their streaming service. Hulu, PlayStation Vue, fuboTV, YouTube TV, and others have all been rushing to add as many locals as they can.
