DIRECTV NOW Quietly Improves Their DVR

Earlier this week, AT&T rolled out DVR support for HBO on DIRECTV NOW. DIRECTV NOW has once again been quietly updated to add support for fast-forwarding a show that is still being recorded.

Now if you get home 15 minutes late for your favorite show you can start the recording from the beginning and even fast forward the recording as it is still recording the show. The ability to watch a show as it is being recorded and fast forwarding it is something not all live TV streaming services offer. The addition of these features brings DIRECTV NOW one step closer to becoming a full replacement for a traditional cable or satellite TV service.

AT&T is still promising the ability to add additional storage to DIRECTV NOW at some future date. Right now, DIRECTV NOW comes with 20 hours of DVR storage. AT&T plans to offer DVR storage add-ons allowing you to record 100 hours of content with your DIRECTV NOW subscriptions. When this new 100-hour DVR add-on will be released is still unknown. Recently AT&T has been tight lipped about the option talking more about their soon to be released DIRECTV streaming version.
