DIRECTV NOW New DVR Adds Support for More Devices

Yesterday we reported that AT&T’s live TV streaming service DIRECTV NOW had sent out a third round of invites to its DVR beta. In that post we said everyone we had talked to has only been using the beta on their mobile devices. Later in the day we learned that it was also running on the Apple TV.

Now we have heard from readers that AT&T has expanded its DVR beta to include Chrome browsers, Fire TV (2nd gen), Fire Stick (2nd gen), and Chromecast in the testing.

We have also confirmed that the DIRECTV NOW Beta FAQ has also been updated to include instructions on how to use these new devices with your DVR beta.

Now AT&T has locked down its beta to only approved devices. Just because you may have the link or details on how to get the app you won’t be able to login.

AT&T is using its AT&T user login for the beta, but you need to be on an approved list to get in.

For now we will need to wait for beta testers to let us know what they think of the new beta before we can get in there and test it out.

Here are some screenshots of the new DIRECTV NOW app and DVR on Chrome:
