DIRECTV NOW Is Making Changes to Its Support Options

Worried couple reading a letter sitting on a couch in the living room at homeIn July DIRECTV NOW announced plans to bring the DIRECTV satellite and DIRECTV NOW services under the same app. Now it looks like support for both services is also being slowly combined.

Yesterday DIRECTV NOW added a message to its support forums stating that starting September 1, 2017, all DIRECTV NOW discussions, questions, and answers will be found under its new TV forums. No longer will there be separate support forums for its satellite and streaming services.

We are unsure how far this combining of support for DIRECTV NOW and its satellite service will go. As of today it still has different chat agent support and DIRECTV satellite customers get phone support but DIRECTV NOW streaming customers do not.

At this time no other changes seem to be happening, but keep an eye out for more in the future. Just yesterday we got our first look at the new DIRECTV NOW app that will be the same app that DIRECTV satellite subscribers will also use.

DIRECTV NOW has a lot of changes set up for this fall and later on. Its DVR is said to be coming to all subscribers this fall along with the new app. CBS channels should be added to DIRECTV NOW at any time. DIRECTV NOW also announced plans to add 4K support at some future date.

Right now DIRECTV NOW is locked in a tight race with Hulu, Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, YouTube TV, and others. The only question is who will be leading a year from now.
