DIRECTV NOW Just Added Showtime As an Add-on

A few months ago, DIRECTV NOW announced that they would be adding CBS owned stations including Showtime. Overnight, AT&T added Showtime to their apps, but you won’t find it on their website yet.

DIRECTV NOW has slowly been adding CBS owned and operated stations and just yesterday they added a few more CBS locals. Before today though none of the other networks promised like POP and CBS Sports have appeared on DIRECTV NOW. As of last night, Showtime has shown up inside the DIRECTV NOW app.

For now, you are not able to subscribe to it on the DIRECTV NOW website. When you search for showtime, it shows up and will ask you if you want to subscribe. Trying to subscribe brings you to their account page with options to add HBO, STARZ and more, but no Showtime option yet. That option will likely go live very soon, but may already be on some versions of their apps.

“This is another key milestone in bringing DIRECTV NOW users access to their favorite entertainment, news and sports from all of the major broadcast networks,” said Daniel York, senior executive vice president and chief content officer – AT&T Entertainment Group. “As we add more live national and local channels, we know even more people will choose DIRECTV NOW as their go-to streaming service.”

We have reached out to DIRECTV NOW for comment and will update this story when we learn more.
