DIRECTV NOW Brings Back a Much-Loved & Missed Feature

The 72-hour rewind was one of the most promising features of DIRECTV NOW.

Sadly several weeks ago DIRECTV NOW turned off the ability to rewatch a show for 72 hours after it aired. Although this is not the DVR option many wanted—and that competitors like Sling TV and PlayStation Vue now offer—it was better than nothing.

Now AT&T-owned DIRECTV NOW has turned the 72-hour rewind service back on for many, but not all, of its channels.

Cord Cutters News had talked to AT&T PR several times about the 72-hour rewind and never received a definite answer about what was happing with the service. The downtime could have been caused by anything from a contract issue to technical difficulties.

The likely answer could be technical in nature because AT&T has been working hard to address a growing list of DIRECTV NOW issues from service outages to error codes. While these issues have been improving, they are still happening from time to time.

DIRECTV NOW had promised a DVR back when it launched but has never given a hint of a time or date for it to happen.

Update: Some have reported that they had access to 72 hour rewind but just lost it. On our DIRECTV NOW account we can still see the 72 hour rewind.
