DIRECTV NOW Airs Game Of Thrones Season 8 Early

Are you eagerly waiting for the premiere of season 8 of Game of Thrones? DIRECTV NOW subscribers have already seen it thanks to the episode going live at 5 PM Eastern hours before the premiere on HBO. The question now is did AT&T mean to air the season premiere of Game of Thrones early on DIRECTV NOW? Was it a great promotional push for DIRECTV NOW or was it a mistake?

Update: We are getting reports that Hulu also aired the start of season 8 at 5 PM Easter. Do you have Hulu and had access to the show at 5 PM Eastern? Leave us a comment and let us know.

Update #2: AT&T replied to Cord Cutters news to say that once the became aware of the early release they pulled it down. From the sounds of it, I wouldn’t expect DIRECTV NOW to release GOT early next week.

HBO was reportedly taking great strict security measures in an effort to stop spoilers this season.  According to reports, the show has taken great precaution to avoid spoilers, but now it seems that for DIRECTV NOW subscribers the first look at season 8 is now live.

Will this happen again next week? We are reaching out to AT&T to find out.
