DIRECTV NOW Adds Dolby Digital Audio & DTS Support

This week DIRECTV NOW added Dolby Digital Audio and DTS support to select FOX stations including FOX news. Users with Apple TV and Fire TV support have confirmed that Dolby Digital Audio is now working on DIRECTV NOW according to several posters on Reddit.

If you have a sound system that supports Dolby Digital Audio or DTS you should now be able to take advantage of the new higher quality audio. We have known for some time know this was coming as AT&T said they are working on it and it even popped up in beta tests back in November 2017.

AT&T has said they are working on other improvements including 4K streaming something that for now only fuboTV offers.

Have you noticed any channels with Dolby Digital Audio or DTS support? Leave us a comment and let us know. Cord Cutters News has reached out to AT&T for comment and will update this story as we learn more.
