DIRECTV NOW Adds 72-Hour Rewind & Show Restart to More Channels

When DIRECTV NOW launched back in late 2016, one of the biggest selling points was the 72-hour rewind feature. The promise was if you missed a show you could rewatch it within 72 hours of missing it; however, sadly, after launch DIRECTV NOW took the feature offline only to have it show up here and there over the last few months.

Now it seems that the 72-hour rewind feature is back online for numerous channels. The best part is you can now restart a show already in progress on CNN, HBO, HGTV, FX, and others.

The following channels support 72-hour rewind on DIRECTV NOW:

How to Use the 72-Hour Rewind Feature

  1. Select a network from the Guide or find it from the Network list.
  2. Networks that offer 72-Hour Rewind will provide the list of available programming.
  3. Make your selection and enjoy the show!

To access the 72-hour rewind feature using your Roku player:

  1. Press the Roku remote’s Home button.
  2. Scroll right to view channels.
  3. Press the Up or Down buttons to navigate to DIRECTV NOW.
  4. Press OK to select DIRECTV NOW.
  5. Scroll down to access the Main Menu.
  6. Press the OK button to select the Guide. (The Guide may also be accessed using the top menu or program details screen.)
  7. Press OK to highlight the channel name.
  8. Press OK to select the channel.
  9. When available, 72-hour rewind displays on the left navigation pane.
  10. Press the Up or Down buttons to view available shows.
