DIRECTV and Lionsgate Will Add Curated Lionsgate Channel to Satellite and Streaming

DIRECTV and Lionsgate announced a new partnership today that will bring content from the studio’s massive film and TV library to a “custom-curated premium channel” for all DIRECTV subscribers, including satellite, streaming, and MyFree DIRECTV, the company’s free streaming service.

“Lionsgate is a powerhouse of bold storytelling and unforgettable entertainment, and this is a unique opportunity to work together on an exclusive curated channel that highlights the best titles in their vast collection,” said Amy Leifer, chief advertising sales officer at DIRECTV. “Together we have an extraordinary opportunity to connect brands with premium storytelling and passionate viewers in powerful new ways.”

The channel will launch in the coming weeks and will include a curated collection of shows and movies from the the 20,000-plus title Lionsgate library. Some highlights of the Lionsgate collection include titles like Weeds and Nurse Jackie, and films like Now You See Me, The Expendables, and many others.
