DIRECTV has added a new channel to its MySports Extra mini pack, available exclusively as an add-on to the MySports Genre Pack.
The Cowboy Channel originally came to select DIRECTV packages in 2017, and now the “Official Network of Pro Rodeo” is available in the mini pack. On The Cowboy Channel, you’ll get 24 hour programming focused on Western sports and the Western lifestyle. The network is the official broadcast partner of ProRodeo and offers year-round coverage of the sport’s biggest moments, personalities and traditions.
The channel is being added to the lineup just in time for Championship Weekend at The American Rodeo, taking place May 22–23 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Add the extra to the MySports genre pack to tune in for bull riding, barrel racing, and more.
Here’s more of the programming you’ll find on the channel:
- Live Rodeo Coverage: Coverage of major PRCA events, including RodeoAustin, San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, RodeoHouston, and Calgary Stampede.
- ProRodeo Tonight: A nightly highlights and analysis show often described as the rodeo world’s version of “SportsCenter,” featuring event recaps, rankings and athlete coverage.
- Western Sports Round-Up: A weekday news and interview program simulcast on SiriusXM Rural Radio Channel 147, covering the latest across the rodeo landscape.
- Lifestyle and Original Series: Programming dedicated to equine training, Western culture, ranch life and documentary storytelling centered around rodeo athletes and Western heritage.
The MySports Extra costs $12.99 per month and includes specialty sports channels like NFL RedZone, MLB Strike Zone, Willow TV, and now, The Cowboy Channel.
