‘Dinosaurs’ is Coming to Disney+ This Fall

The cult classic TV show Dinosaurs will be coming to Disney+ sometime this fall.

The announcement was shared during ABC’s new game show, “Don’t”. No exact release date was shared.

The 90s sitcom showed the day to day lives of a family of dinosaurs. The show, set in 60,000,003 B.C. in Pangaea featured Earl Sinclair, a blue-collar worker trying to provide for his family by working for a short-tempered boss. Earl’s wife Fran, teenage son Robbie, daughter Charlene, mother in law Ethyl, and precocious Baby made up the rest of the family.

Dinosaurs aired on ABC from 1991 to 1994. The 65 episodes showed everyday life for the Sinclair family, but tackled some heavier topics as well, including environmentalism, endangered species, and corporate crime.

The series was developed by Jim Henson in 1988. “He wanted it to be a sitcom with a pretty standard structure, with the biggest differences being that it’s a family of dinosaurs and their society has this strange toxic life style,” said Brian Henson in a New York Times article after the show premiered, adding that “people thought it was a crazy idea.” Henson died the year before the show made it to TV.

With this series, along with Muppets content, being added to Disney+, there’s hope of more Henson content to coming to the streaming platform.
