Cord Cutters News

DAZN, The Netflix of Sports, Is Coming to the United States in September

A few months ago, DAZN struck a $1 billion deal with Matchroom Boxing to stream live boxing matches in the United States. Now we know that DAZN plans to launch their service on September 10th 2018.

“This is a dream scenario for us, we can build a formidable team of fighters and also put our stamp on events from production to talent to in arena experience. Our plan is to make DAZN the home of boxing and with 32 big fight nights already confirmed from the US and UK we are nicely on our way.”

DAZN will cost $9.99 a month and, for now, will focus on boxing matches. In other parts of the world, DAZN streams the NFL, NHL, and more. According to reports, they hope to expand their lineup in the United States.

DAZN is not alone in this effort to bring a Netflix-style service to cord cutting. ESPN recently launched ESPN+ with the ability to access a wide range of sports and sports-related programming for just $5 a month. Hopefully, this continues to push down the cost of sports going forward.
