CuriosityStream Reaches 16 Million Subscribers

CuriosityStream released its Q1 financial results Tuesday, showing a 28% increase in subscribers year over year, reaching 16 million subscribers total.

CuriosityStream also reported an increase in revenue for the quarter, hitting $9.9 million, up from $7.5 million in the first quarter of 2020.

The streaming service, home of science, technology, and history content, released a slate of new titles in the first quarter, including Ancient Yellowstone, Nature Through Her Eyes, Ancient Engineering, Legends of Speed, and Breakthrough: Perseverance Rover Countdown to Impact.

Along with sharing financial results for the quarter, CuriosityStream also announced it has acquired One Day University, which provides access to more than 500 engaging talks and lectures from the best professors at more than 150 colleges and universities in the United States. One Day University offers live in-person events, live-streamed series with Q&A, premium digital courses and on demand content including lectures on science, history, art, politics and more.
