CuriosityStream Expects to Have Several Million Subscribers by the End of 2019

Last week, at the pay-TV show, CuriosityStream’s CEO announced that they expect to have several million subscribers by the end of 2019. This would roughly double CuriosityStream’s subscribers as at the end of 2018, CuriosityStream had just 1 million paid subscribers.

This news comes as CuriosityStream recently announced that they have acquired $140 million in new private funding. This funding will help CuriosityStream expand both in content and in subscribers. New investors in CuriosityStream include Blum Capital Ventures and TimesSquare Capital Management.

How many subscribers does millions mean? We don’t know, but that would point to CuriosityStream expecting to see its subscriber base at least double in 2019. CuriosityStream has already reported that by the end of 2019 subscribers will be able to choose from 3,000+ titles including more exclusive originals available in 4K.
