Crunchyroll Surpasses 5M Subscribers

Anime and manga streaming service Crunchyroll has now surpassed 5 million subscribers and 120 million active users. The growing global brand offers fans a robust anime library of more than 1,000 titles and 30,000 episodes available in more than 200 countries and territories. Now, Crunchyroll has also announced its new project “Dark Star Squadron,” an animated space opera in development in partnership with Zoe Saldana’s Cinestar Pictures

“The tremendous growth of our streaming service is indicative of the growing love for anime and its deserved spotlight in popular culture,” said Joanne Waage, general manager, Crunchyroll. “Zoe and her team are bringing their own anime fandom to their storytelling and we’re excited to be a part of it.”
