Crunchyroll is Raising Its Prices

Anime streaming service Crunchyroll announced today that it has raised its price for new subscribers and will be increasing the price for existing subscribers in the coming weeks.

Starting February 2, 2026, the Fan Tier will increase from $7.99 per month to $9.99 per month. The Mega Fan Tier will increase from $11.99 per month to $13.99 per month. And the Ultimate Fan Tier will increase from $15.99 per month to $17.99 per month.

The price hike follows news in December that the service was discontinuing its free tier.

“We’re making these updates to continue expanding the world’s largest anime library—packed with new releases and exclusive series every season,” said an email to subscribers today.

With the Mega Fan package, users can watch content without ads, get access to the full on-demand library, watch new episodes shortly after airing in Japan, watch on up to four devices at once, use offline viewing, get access to the Crunchyroll Game Vault, and get 10% off of select products in the Crunchyroll Store.

In the email that went out today, subscribers were encouraged to upgrade to an annual plan to bring the monthly cost of the service down.

Subscribers also have the option of choosing the Fan package for $9.99 per month, or upgrading to the Ultimate Fan package for $17.99 per month.
