Crackle vs XUMO: Two Great Free Cord Cutting Services Compared

family watching tvDid you know that you can find tons of free, ad-supported streaming services on every streaming device? With these apps, you can watch TV episodes, movies and more, all for free. Today, we’re looking at two of those free streaming services – Crackle and XUMO.

Crackle

Crackle also provides full length movies and TV shows for free, but also includes original content. Crackle recently announced that they plan to create more original content for their free service, through the new Landmark Studio Group, owned by parent company Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment.

Crackle kicked off the launch of more original content with an original docu-series from Ashton Kutcher. Going From Broke is a 10 part series where millennials gain financial confidence and work toward financial freedom.

Crackle makes it easy to find the content you want, dividing it into TV and Movies sections. Browse by genre or sort all available content alphabetically. Look for the Crackle Original category in both sections to find exclusive content.

XUMO

XUMO is a subscription-free service, offering over 160 channels of on-demand and live content at no cost. XUMO has recently been adding many new channels to the lineup, like these 22 new channels which includes American Classics, Thriller & Horror, and Nosey.

XUMO is available on Hisense, Sharp, Magnavox, Panasonic, Philips, Sanyo, or VIZIO smart TV, your Channel Plus enabled LG smart TV, your iPhone or iPad, your Android device, or on your Roku. You can also cast XUMO from your mobile devices to your TVs via AirPlay (AppleTV), Chromecast, Miracast or Screencast.
