Cox Is Raising Their Prices

A young woman is sitting in her kitchen and is loking at her receipts at home while using a smart phoneEarlier this week we learned that Comcast was raising their prices. Today we learn that Cox will also be raising the price of their pay-TV service.

Recently Cox started informing customers that their rates will be going up on January 7, 2018. Core packages are going up as much as $5 a month, but Cox didn’t stop there. Almost every fee and add-on will see a price hike with the exception of the Playboy premium channel that will see a price drop.

Some of the noticeable price hikes are the broadcast TV surcharge that will go from $4 a month to $7.50 a month. CableCards are going up to $2.99.

Even Internet will see a price hike with Starter Internet going from $34.99 to $36.99 a month.

While $5 a month extra may not seem like much when you add in the new $3.50 broadcast TV surcharge it adds up to $8.50 extra a month or an extra $84 over a two-year contract.

Keep an eye out for stories about the higher cost of Internet—in this case $2 a month means you should just go back to pay TV. Remember every time Internet goes up it’s a fraction of the cost of cable TV.
