According to the report, the average cord cutter uses 520.8 GB of data every month. This is almost double what the average American uses in a month, which is 275.1 GB.
The amount of data cord cutters use is increasing. In fact, the average data used by cord cutters rose 7% in the third quarter of 2019. The good news is the average cord cutter is using just about half of the average 1 TB data cap.
According to OpenVault, 12% of cord cutters exceed the 1 TB of data a month. This qualifies them as power users.
The good news for cord cutters is that most do not need to worry about going over their data cap. But, were the people who went over 1 TB cord cutters who had a data cap? Many cord cutters who have a data cap make changes to help stay under their cap. So, are the people going over the 1 TB limit people who don’t have data caps and therefore they don’t care? It would be interesting to see how many people who go over 1 TB don’t have a data cap.
