Consumer Cellular’s Unlimited Plan Gets Massive Price Cut for 2026

Consumer Cellular has shaken up the wireless market by cutting its unlimited plan’s price twice in six months. Back in September, the plan dropped from $50 to $40, and earlier this month, it was reduced again to $35.

If your current carrier markets “unlimited” like it’s one-size-fits-all, you’re likely paying for data you don’t use. For $35 per month, Consumer Cellular customers age 50 or older can get unlimited talk, text, and data (with 35GB LTE). While many other Big Wireless carriers rely on temporary promos, Consumer Cellular is offering a rare, permanent-style reduction.

“We want our plans to reflect how people really use their phones,” said Consumer Cellular CEO Ed Evans. “Nearly 80% of adults 50+ don’t need unlimited data, and most of our customers use just over 5GB a month. But, for those who do want unlimited, we’ve made it our business to find efficiencies that allow us to deliver real savings, not promotional pricing that vanishes after a few months.”

As the industry shifts to AI, the company says it’s leaning on Real Intelligence (RI), with U.S.-based support, a growing retail footprint, and simpler plans to make affordable wireless actually stick. The MVNO is backed by multiple network providers to ensure you get the strongest available signal in your area. The latest price cut shows the company is focused on steady, predictable bills instead of a teaser rate that disappears after a couple of months for customers who need unlimited.
