Comcast’s Xfinity TV Price Just Increased $10 a Month

This week there has been a lot of talk about YouTube TV and DIRECTV NOW going up $10 a month. What slid under the radar is that Comcast also went up the same amount in some markets. That means if you live in a Comcast market you are saving the same amount this year as you did last year.

Now if you want the Xfinity Digital Starter package you will have to pay $69.95 for 87 TV channels compared to $59.95 just last week. (Plus, a set-up fee of up to $90, taxes, device rentals, and other fees, according to a new price sheet that was posted online and went into effect on April 10, 2019.)

The Digital Starter package also no longer qualifies for multi-product discounts or the paperless billing discount. So, if you hoped to get a discount for having multiple Comcast products, you are out of luck.

Some fees also seem to have changed from the last time we looked at them. Now the HD Technology fee is $9.95 a month, the DVR service costs $10 a month, the Regional Sports fee costs $8.25 a month, and the broadcast TV fee is $10 a month.

That means the Xfinity Digital Starter TV package really costs $108.15 before you add in local taxes. That price could easily go even higher if you want any additional TVs. Right now, Comcast is charging $5.49 for each digital box that you now need to watch Xfinity TV on every TV.

Publications that rush to push the idea that cord cutting costs as much as cable TV need to update their stories now that Comcast has raised the price of Xfinity TV.
