Update: Comcast Denies It Will Move Bally Sports To a More Expensive Package This Week

Recently, Comcast moved a Roots Sports RSN package in the North West to a more expensive TV package. Now it has been reported that Comcast will also be moving all Bally Sports channels to a more expensive package this week.

UPDATE: Comcast has told Cord Cutters News that there will be no change to what packages offer Bally Sports. They said the New York Post story was not correct. Bellow is the original story:

The New York Post today reported that sources close to the move confirmed to them that Bally Sports is to a higher its of its Xfinity cable TV service.

If the Roots Sports move is any example, the channels will likely end up in the Ultimate Comcast package. That will likely cost customers about $20 extra a month to continue to watch these networks. The New York Post says it is expected that about 30% of its subscribers will not move up, resulting in lower revenues from Comcast.

Comcast’s contract with Bally Sports was reportedly renewed in late September. This move may have been apart of the deal to keep Bally Sports on Comcast.

The NBA teams Bally Sports currently has contracts with are the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs., Miami Heat, and Milwaukee Bucks.

The NHL teams that Bally Sports currently has contacts with are the Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets, Anaheim Ducks, Carolina Hurricanes, Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Los Angeles Kings.

The MLB teams that Bally Sports currently has contracts with are the Detroit Tigers, Miami Marlins, Cleveland Guardians, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angles Angels, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Milwaukee Brewers.
