Comcast & Spectrum Partner With TCL To Launch a New Free Streaming Service On Roku TVs & Google TVs

TCL 6 Series Mini LED QLED 2

Today Xumo Plays’s Chief Revenue Officer Colin Petrie-Norris announced to Fierce Video that they are partnering with TCL to power its new and newly rebranded free ad-supported streaming service.

For some time now, TCL has offered a free service called TCL Channels. This service is available on its TVs in North America, including its Roku TVs and Google TVs. Now the service is going to be rebranded and relaunched. This time with the rebranding, the service will be powered by Xumo Play, a joint venture by Comcast and Spectrum.

According to Fierce Video, this new service will be a “really big refresh strategy for them.” During the interview, he said they will have more to announce at the StreamTV show in Denver next week. Cord Cutters News will be there and will have full coverage.

What we do know is the new TCL free streaming service will be powered by Xuumo both for content and the tech that will run the channel.

Currently, Xumo Play offers over 300 live free channels. It is very likely that most, if not all, of these channels, will also be coming to TCL’s new free streaming service.

For now, we will have to wait and see what TCL announces for their new free ad-supported streaming service.
