Comcast Now Charges Over $55 a Month in Fees for ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, & Your Local RSN On Top of the Advertised Price in Some Areas

Comcast Cable Truck

Are you ready to pay a lot in fees to watch “free” over-the-air television? Customers in some parts of Connecticut are paying $55.40 a month for local TV stations ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC along with their RSNs.

Comcast is charging some customers $32.75 a month for broadcast TV fees and local RSN costs are $22.65 a month. Put these two fees together and you pay $55.40 a month extra for the channels they advertise as a part of the TV package. These are the highest total fees for broadcast TV and RSNs we have ever seen.

Please note these fees vary depending on where you live. These fees are Comcast and others passing on the costs of these networks to customers.

Over the course of a year local TV stations and RSNs will cost Comcast Xfinity TV customers in these areas $664.80 a year.

The fees don’t stop there. If you want the NFL RedZone that will cost $9.99 a month. HD technology fees cost $9.95 a month for the ability to watch the channel in HD. Want a DVR? That will be an additional $10 a month; premium DVR costs $20 a month; and an extra 150 hours of storage will cost $10 a month.

Comcast’s popular TV package with HD programming, sports, kids, family, and 20 hours of DVR costs $60 a month. If you just add your locals, that cost is $115.40 a month. If you add the other fees, the cost increases even more.

Don’t worry: the fees don’t stop there. If you want extra cable boxes because you own more than one TV that will be an extra $10 a month on top of the $115.40.

When you put that all together you can see why in 2023 a growing number of Americans ditched cable TV companies like Comcast and started to stream online.

These fees will vary by market, but it is good to know what you will pay to Comcast in fees on top of their advertised price depending on your address.
