Comcast Lost 273,000 Cable Customers in Q3 2020

Comcast reported its Q3 financials this morning, which included a loss of 273,000 video subscribers in total. That number was made up of 253,000 residential customers and 20,000 business video customers.

At the end of Q3, Comcast reported 19.22 million residential TV subscribers and 874,000 business subscribers, for a total of 20.09 million cable customers.

While cable subscribers were lost, the company made up for it with broadband customers. Comcast reported that it had its best quarterly customer results in the history of the company with 633,000 high speed internet customers added in the third quarter. That number was up 50% year over year.

“We are executing at the highest level; and perhaps, most importantly, accelerating innovation, which will drive long-term future growth,” commented Brian L. Driven by our industry-leading platform and strategic focus on broadband, aggregation and streaming, we added a record 633,000 high-speed internet customers and 556,000 total net new customer relationships.”
