Comcast is Raising The Price of TV, Internet & Home Protect Starting Next Week

Comcast Cable Truck

Are you ready to pay more for cable TV? Recently, Comcast started to inform customers in some markets of an upcoming price hike. With this price hike, customers will see their bills go up on their base package plus fees like Broadcast TV fees and Regional Sports fees will also be going up.

With this price of TV service will go up around $6 per month for your TV package. You will also see about $4 price hike on Comcast’s broadcast TV fees. Regional sports fees will also go up about $1 a month. Bundles of premium channels will see prices go up between $2 and $4 a month, depending on what package you pick.

The price of internet will also be going up on average $4 a month across all of its internet packages. Home protection customers will also see their bills go up by $5 a month.

“Rising programming costs continue to drive the highest increase in customers’ bills.  We’re working hard to manage these costs for our customers while investing in our broadband network to provide the best, most reliable Internet service in the country and to give our customers more low-cost choices in video and connectivity so they can find a package that fits their lifestyle and budget.” Comcast said in a statement to Cord Cutters News.

A Comcast customer with TV, internet, and home protect service could see their bills jump by as much as $20 a month with these new prices, depending on what they subscribe to. This news comes shortly after DIRECTV also announced its second price hike of 2024. Exact pricing on things like regional sports fees and broadcast TV fees will vary by area.

According to the flyer we saw, these price hikes will go into effect on December 18, 2023. Customers will see their bills go up on the next bill after that date. Any customer on a promotional rate will not see their prices go up until that offer ends.

Comcast, like many companies, is being pressured by cable networks to pay more for their content. Now, they are passing those costs alone to the end customer.

Correction we have updated our story to list that home protect not phone was increased.
