Comcast and Charter are Partnering With Best Buy For Xumo-Branded TVs

A new line of televisions integrating Comcast and Charter’s Xumo platform is coming to Best Buy.

The streaming platform, jointly owned by Charter and Comcast, will launch the Pioneer Xumo TVs online and in stores in November.

The Pioneer Xumo 4K Ultra HD Smart TV is designed to help users quickly find the content they want to watch via a universal voice search remote. It also features an “intuitive user interface” so audiences can browse and manage content across all their streaming apps simultaneously. Users will be able to view recently used apps, services, content, HDMI inputs, and broadcast channels right from their home screen.

Users can create a personalized “My List” to save films and series to watch later from multiple apps like Xumo Play, Disney+, Max, Apple TV+, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, Prime Video, YouTube, Pluto, and Tubi.

“We’re focused on removing the complexity that’s come with the rise of streaming, enabling consumers to get back to enjoying their TV experience,” said Stephanie Cassi, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Xumo.

Xumo Play is a free, ad-supported streaming service that serves as a sort of side bet by Comcast and Charter, which are the two largest cable TV providers in the country. This move joins companies like Roku, which have also worked to integrate its own platform into TVs made by the likes of TCL.

Xumo said the televisions will come pre-loaded with “hundreds of apps” and sold exclusively at Best Buy.

“Our partnership with Best Buy represents a great step forward for consumer choice. Soon, consumers looking for an affordable and innovative smart TV will have a compelling new option in Pioneer Xumo TVs,” said Cassi.

The Pioneer Xumo TVs will be available in 43”, 50”, 55”, and 65” screen sizes, supporting Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 for enhanced color and contrast while watching your favorite content.
