Comcast Debuts First-Ever Enhanced 4K Viewing Experience for the Olympic Games on Xfinity X1

Comcast has announced the launch of its enhanced 4K viewing experience on Xfinity X1, set to premiere for the Paris Olympic Games. This first-of-its-kind offering combines industry-leading video, audio, and network technology to deliver an unmatched high-definition viewing experience. Available on USA Network’s 24/7 coverage, this feature promises to bring the excitement of the Olympics to life with 4K video, Dolby Vision® for life-like picture quality, Dolby Atmos immersive audio, and ultra-low latency that brings viewers close to live action unfolding in Paris.

Comcast’s enhanced 4K offering on Xfinity X1 is designed to give viewers the best seat in the house for the Olympic Games. With crystal clear pictures, vivid colors, and immersive audio, fans can experience the games as if they were there. Vito Forlenza, Vice President of Sports Entertainment at Comcast, stated in the press release, “The Olympics is the best example of how Comcast can bring together its fantastic sports content, entertainment platforms, and innovative technology to deliver one-of-a-kind experiences to customers.”

A New Standard for Live Sports

Following a successful trial during the 2024 Super Bowl, enhanced 4K will set a new quality standard for live sports delivered on X1. This technology ensures significantly less delay compared to other market options, providing a seamless and immersive viewing experience.

Comprehensive Olympics Coverage on X1

Xfinity X1 customers can easily access the enhanced 4K feed through X1’s Olympics destination. This hub offers curated and personalized access to every minute of coverage across NBCUniversal’s networks, including NBC, USA Network, E!, CNBC, GOLF Channel, Telemundo, Universo, two new Paris Extra channels, and streaming on Peacock. Features include:

Robust Streaming Options

On Xfinity Flex and Xumo devices, Comcast’s Internet customers will also have a robust destination that brings together all of Peacock’s programming. This includes quick access to Peacock’s new Multiview feature, whip-around coverage on Gold Zone, highlights and replays, other shows and documentaries, and more. Additionally, Xumo devices will pull in other Olympic-related programming from streaming services such as YouTube, Netflix, Apple TV+, MAX, Prime Video, and more. While this offering on Xumo won’t be quite as feature-rich as X1—lacking elements like Team Comcast pages, venue tours, and Odds Zone—it still ensures customers can easily find and navigate Olympic programming.

Exclusive Offer for New and Existing Customers

New and existing Xfinity Internet customers can sign up for Xfinity StreamSaver to enjoy the full excitement of the Olympics, along with access to Peacock Premium, Netflix, and Apple TV+ for $15/month.

With these new features and viewing destinations, Xfinity aims to give viewers the best seat in the house for the Olympic Games, offering a viewing experience that is second to none.
