Cinedigm Launches New Network CONtv Anime

Today Cinedigm announced the launch of its new animation network, CONtv Anime, a network dedicated soley to Japanese Anime cartoons. The 24/7 linear AVOD channel begins streaming today across connected devices including Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, iOS Android, Vizio, and many more. Cinedigm also announced its plan to rebrand Viewster into CONtv which will bring the network to smart TVs from major brands such as Philips, TCL, Vizio, LG, Sharp, Magnavox, Sony, Hisense and Vestel.

With the addition of Viewster devices along with CONtv’s digital footprint, CONtv Anime will reach a total of approximately 295 million devices globally.

“According to the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation, the global market for Anime exceeds more than $19 billion dollars annually, and as evidenced by the popularity of the genre on top SVOD platforms like Netflix and HBOmax, Anime has gone mainstream,” said Erick Opeka, President of Cinedigm Networks. “Our goal is to provide consumers an amazing, fan-curated channel, 100% for free, deeply embedded into their favorite devices around the globe.”

CONtv’s 24/7 lineup includes a diverse range of Anime genres from cyberpunk and the supernatural, to tense dramas, epic fantasy sagas, and everything in-between. Many titles will be presented in English or with dubbing. CONtv boasts a library of hard-to-find classics, as well as fan favorites and new releases. Notable titles include Bubblegum Crisis, AD Police, Vampire Princess Miyu
