HBO Max Releases First Trailer for ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’

Justice League HBO Max

As part of this weekend’s DC FanDome online event, HBOMax has released the first full trailer for the Zack Snyder version of Justice League. Titled, appropriately enough, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” this new edit of the 2017 superhero film was announced earlier this year after years of rumors about a new version.

During production of the 2017 original, Joss Whedon took over as director after Snyder left due to the death of his daughter. Pretty much ever since, vocal fans have been clamoring for a version of the film the way Snyder originally intended it. Back in May of this year, Snyder announced the project was moving forward, with an exclusive home on the HBOMax streaming service and a budget of $30 million.

A short teaser was released in June, giving fans their first look at changes Snyder had in mind, but today’s trailer shows off more of what to expect. The trailer ends with a mention of a 2021 release, but no exact date was offered.

Variety also reported that the film will be offered in four, one-hour sections — alongside an option to watch the full four-hour film. Plans are also underway for a distribution plan to offer the film beyond HBOMax.
