Schanman says everyone wants content; we have to figure out how they want their content. Charter has to “become better” at delivering the content people want.
The moderator, Mike Dano from Firececable, pushed Schanman asking if he was worried about cord cutting after noting that Schanman seemed not at all worried about it. According to Schanman, Charter is not concerned with cord cutting.
Schanman reinforced the idea that everyone wants content and Charter just needs to find a way to offer what they want. He dove into making their UI, search, and discovery better.
While Schanman did not mention it you have to think one of the ways Charter’s Spectrum service is trying to do this is through their new Spectrum Choice service. This new service allows cord cutters to pick 10 channels and get their local TV stations for just $21 a month.
For now, at least in public, it seems that Charter is not worried about cord cutting. It leaves you to wonder what they think in the privacy of their offices.
