CBS Starts Cracking Down on Kodi Add-Ons

For years now, Kodi add-ons have offered access to CBS content both the free CBS services like CBS Sports and official CBS feeds. Now CBS has started to crack down on third-party Kodi add-ons with a series of takedown requests, according to a report from Torrentfreak.

CBS has asked Kodi repositories to remove third-party Kodi add-ons that offer access to CBS’s free services. These add-ons gave access to CBS Sports and CBS News.

Kodi is a media center software that allows third-party developers to build add-ons. These third-party add-ons seem to be the core of the issue because many of them allow piracy. This, for some time, made Kodi one of the most popular software options when it came to piracy. Now companies seem to be cracking down not only on the add-ons that offer pricey but unofficial add-ons that give access to content from places like CBS outside of the official apps.
