CBS May Be Coming to DirecTV NOW

DirecTV NOW came out offering several different packages up to 100 channels starting at $35 a month;  however, there was a major hole in the lineup: CBS channels. Yup no “Survivor,” “The Big Bang Theory,” or “NCIS.” Also no Showtime or The CW.

However, there seems to be hope for DirecTV NOW subscribers who want access to CBS channels. This week CBS Chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves hinted that CBS and DirecTV Now will still come to a deal.

When asked about DirecTV NOW he said, “I’m assuming we’ll be able to make a deal with them,” he said when the subject of AT&T’s new Internet TV service came up. “As they said in The Godfather, ‘We are not unreasonable people here.’’’

CBS already has live TV streaming deals with services such as PlayStation Vue and has announced that it is in talks with Google for its new YouTube live TV streaming service.

As with all things money seems to be the big issue. CBS clearly wants to push subscribers over to its CBS All Access service in an effort to maximize revenue.

Hopefully for cord cutters CBS agrees to bring its network to more streaming services such as DirecTV NOW.
