CBS Is Improving Its CBSN Live Streaming News Service

CBSN is CBS’s 24/7 free streaming news channel. In the past the content created for CBSN was content you would not see on CBS.

That all seems to be changing now with CBSN’s new “On Assignment” show that is scheduled to launch in late July 2017. “CBSN: On Assignment” will allow CBSN to dive deeper into stories from around the world.

Now CBS has announced that the four “CBSN: On Assignment” shows will air on CBS in primetime giving the CBSN network exposer to new possible viewers.

CBSN: On Assignment will take viewers on a thought-provoking journey featuring compelling stories from around the globe. The stories are intense, interesting and immersive,” said Executive Producer Mosheh Oinounou.

“This is an opportunity to showcase the voices and original storytelling from CBSN to an entirely new audience,” said Nancy Lane, senior executive producer for CBS News Digital. “Our long-form programming enhances our live, anchored coverage throughout the day.”

“CBSN: On Assignment” is reported to be the first step in developing new programming for CBS live streaming news channel. You can watch CBSN for free on most streaming players including the Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV as well as most phones and tablets that run iOS and Android.
