CBS All Access Broke Their Signup Record This Month with Premiere of Picard

ViacomCBS said that CBS All Access has seen a record number of signups this month, reports Broadcasting Cable. The rise in subscribers came with the premiere of Star Trek: Picard and promotion of the streaming service during the Grammy Awards over the weekend. The promotional offer for one free month of the service likely helped the numbers as well.

“We’ve seen tremendous continued growth in the service, and the new records we’ve experienced due to Star Trek: Picard, the Grammy’s and a fantastic season of football are a phenomenal way to kick off what will be a fantastic year for CBS All Access,” said Marc DeBevoise, chief digital officer, ViacomCBS, and president and CEO, CBS Interactive. “CBS All Access continues to build upon its great mix of programming – from original series, to sports and special events – and we’ve strategically programmed 2020 to bring subscribers an ‘always on’ calendar of must-watch series and events.”

CBS has not offered exact subscriber numbers yet.

Before this, the record was set last February when the Super Bowl was on CBS. This year, the Grammy’s aired on CBS, with streaming available on CBS All Access. ViacomCBS says the Grammy’s brought in 80% more signups this year than last year.
