Cable Companies Want to Charge You Extra for Every TV…

children-403582_640 (1)Still have Time Warner Cable? Ready to pay an extra fee for every TV you have in the house? Yup Time Warner Cable will charge you at least $3.75 for every TV you want to watch Time Warner Cable on starting in 2017.

The way Time Warner Cable can enforce this $3.75 fee for every TV is the move to digital transmission of their cable TV. You will now need a box to decode the signal for every TV you want to watch. For now, these boxes are free, but in 2017 you will start paying at least $3.75 for every TV you want to watch cable TV on. If you own three TVs that adds up to an extra $11.25 a month and $135 a year!We say at least $3.75 because DVR boxes cost $10 a month to rent! Yikes! If you have four TVs in your house and just one of them has a DVR your rental fees for the boxes will be $21.25 a month and $255 a year! WOW!

This all adds up, and it is on top of your base cable package. Let’s not forget the taxes and other fees that are on your bill and before you know it just the TV portion of your bill has shot up well past $100 a month! You are now paying $1,200 a year just to watch TV! With Sling TV starting at just $20 a month for some of the most popular channels on cable why pay $3.75 just because you have a TV to watch the server you pay for?

With fees like this being added to cable TV it is no surprise people are ditching cable and becoming cord cutters.
