beIN Says Sony is To Blame For Them Leaving PlayStation Vue

Depressed mature man holding paper and looking at it while sitting on the couch at homeOn Wednesday it was announced that Sony’s PlayStation Vue would drop beIN SPORTS. Now beIN Sports opens up about what happened.

“We’ve certainly made every attempt to renew [the agreement between beIN SPORTS and PlayStation Vue to feature beIN SPORTS channels on the streaming network],” said beIN SPORTS VP of Business Development and Affiliate Sales Roy Meyeringh told WorldSoccerTalk.com. “Their decision entirely is based on their desire not to pay fair-market value for beIN SPORTS. When I say fair market value, I mean the same rate that our other 30-plus partners are paying.”

beIN SPORTS went on to say. “We were one of the first partners to launch with them. We’d be happy to continue to be with them, but we need to do so in a fair manner to the rest of our partners and our bottom line.”

Here is the statement from PlayStation Vue:

“Dear PlayStation™Vue customer,

We hope you’re enjoying your subscription to PlayStation™Vue. We want to let you know that as of Thursday June 8, 2017, beIN SPORTS will no longer be offered by PlayStation™Vue. When this happens, you will no longer be able to watch the channel, and any beIN SPORTS programs saved in your DVR will no longer be accessible.

There is no long-term commitment required for any PlayStation Vue plan and you can change your plan at any time. To modify your subscription, just visit psvue.com/subscription.

Thank you, PlayStation™Vue”

The good news is you can still find beIN on Sling TV and Fubo TV.
