Barney, Garfield and Friends and Other Kids Shows To Launch in YouTube Cartoon Hub, With Streaming Channel to Come

Parents looking to share classic episodes of Barney and Friends and Garfield and Friends with their kids will have a new channel on YouTube to turn to.

Canadian media production company 9 Story Media on Tuesday launched a new YouTube hub to house some of catalog of kids programming. That includes the entire library of Barney and Friends and Garfield and Friends, along with Angelina Ballerina, Guess How Much I Love You and newer shows like Let’s Game and Challenge Dan.

The company also said it was partnering with media company Cineverse to create free, ad-supported streaming channels to run over various platforms starting in 2024.

“With our robust library of top kids’ brands, and a long history of distributing across all major digital platforms, this is the perfect time to launch our first 9 Story hub channel,” said 9 Story Chief Strategy Officer Natalie Osborne.

It’s just the latest media company to move its content on digital and streaming platforms. It makes sense that 9 Media is starting with YouTube, which boasts by far the widest audience of any streaming service.

In addition to Barney and Garfield, 9 Media is responsible for contemporary kids programming such as Doc McStuffins, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Octonauts, Wild Kratts and Blue’s Clues & You. But those shows won’t be showing up on this new YouTube channel.
