AT&T Wants to Reboot TGIF With New Versions of ‘Step by Step’, ‘Perfect Strangers’ & ‘Family Matters’

If you grew up in the 1990s, you likely remember TGIF as must-watch TV every Friday night. Now AT&T is reportedly working on bringing back TGIF classics like Step by StepPerfect Strangers, its spinoff Family Matters to its new WarnerMedia streaming service.

It seems that AT&T is hoping to copy Netflix’s success with Fuller House a reboot of the hit Full House show. This all comes as Americans seem to becoming increasingly nostalgic for everything from the 90s.

WarnerMedia has also ordered a sci-fi series called “Dune: The Sisterhood,” according to a report from Variety. The series will take place in the “Dune” universe that was created in the book series by author Frank Herbert. In “Dune: The Sisterhood,” the audience will be introduced to the Bene Gesserit, an order of women surrounded by mystery and extraordinary physical and mental abilities.

“The Bene Gesserit have always been fascinating to me,” director Denis Villeneuve said. “Focusing a series around that powerful order of women seemed not only relevant and inspiring but a dynamic setting for the television series.”

Previously, the “Dune” universe came to TV in a three-part SyFy miniseries in 2000 and the follow-up “Children of Dune” in 2003.
