AT&T TV NOW Drops Price, Removes HBO from Plus Package Lineup

AT&T has dropped the price of the AT&T TV NOW Plus package to $55 (previously $65/month). The bad news is that to allow for that price drop, AT&T has taken. HBO off of the channel lineup for the package. HBO is still available as an add on channel for $10/month, the same amount the price has been reduced, allowing AT&T to advertise a lower price while still allowing subscribers to have HBO without paying more than they were previously.

The change could be related to the upcoming launch of HBO Max in May 2020. It’s possible that AT&T took HBO channels out of the AT&T TV NOW basic package lineup to encourage those subscribers to subscribe to HBO Max when it launches.

The AT&T TV NOW Max package has remained unchanged. Those subscribing to the Max package will still have HBO and Cinemax in their lineups. The price of the Max package has also remained the same, at $80/month.
