AT&T Promise to Leave HBO Now & HBO Go Alone After They Launch HBO Max

Today AT&T announced HBO Max a new Netflix/Hulu like streaming service that will reportedly include everything that HBO Now offers plus a lot of WarnerMedia content. This raised the question about the future of HBO Now especially after it was reported that the new HBO Max service would likely cost $16 or $17 a month.

Now AT&T has told Fast Company that HBO Now and HBO Go will remain after HBO Max launches. Here is the statement AT&T sent Fast Compay today “Nothing will happen with HBO Go or HBO Now. HBO Max will be a distinct offering. As a distinct offering, you would not automatically become a Max subscriber.”

Now the question is how exactly will AT&T differentiate HBO Now from HBO Max and will the two brands confuse subscribers. For now, we will have to wait and see what AT&T does with HBO Max when it launches in the Spring of 2020 as right now all we have are rumors about the price and only a rough idea of what will be offered on the new service.
