AT&T Plans to Raise DIRECTV & U-verse Prices in January 2019

Recently AT&T announced plans to raise the price of select DIRECTV and U-verse TV packages in 2019. This price hike will happen on January 29th, 2019 for current DIRECTV and U-verse customers.

DIRECTV prices are going up between $1 and $8 a month. According to the price chart, most plans will be going up $3 to $5 a month. Regional sports fess will be going up in most markets between $1 a month and $1.90 a month. (Tier 1 RSN markets will see no price hikes, but tier 2 through 6 will all see a price hike.)

U-verse will also see price hikes ranging from $2 to $5 a month on most plans. The one exception is U-basic as it will not see a price hike but all other plans will. Broadcast TV surcharge will also be going up $2 a month on all plans including U-Basic.

Here is what AT&T said on their website about the price hike:

Because our programming costs went up, we have to raise our monthly prices for select packages starting January 20, 2019. You’ll see the new pricing on your bill. If you currently have a DIRECTV® or U-verse® TV promotion, you’ll keep that discount until it expires. Once your promotional period ends, you’ll pay the new price for your package. If you change your base package, you may not be eligible for the promotional offer anymore.
