This week AT&T’s Chief Marketing Officer David Christopher talked with Variety about AT&T’s future plans in Hollywood.
During the interview, Variety asked David Christopher, “What about specific products AT&T customers can look forward to? Christopher responded by saying:
“We really believe in in a ‘better together’ concept: the more you engage with AT&T, the better it gets. An example of that is our unlimited customers who have DirecTV can get DirecTV for $25 with a premium TV service or $10 for DirecTV NOW. You can expect more of that from us.”
That likely should not surprise many because bundling has been a big part of AT&T’s game plan. It makes sense from a business standpoint: the more services you use from AT&T, the more profit it makes, the bigger of a discount it can offer.
So what could these bundles be? Since launch there have been rumors of if you are an AT&T Internet subscriber and a DIRECTV NOW subscriber… This would be similar to the AT&T Unlimited discounts that let subscribers get DIRECTV NOW for $10 a month.
So if you get AT&T Unlimited, AT&T Internet, and DIRECTV NOW could you walk away with an even cheaper plan than $10 a month? We will have to wait and see what happens.
Yet it seems like AT&T really wants people to sign up. Yesterday it was announced that if you sign up for DIRECTV or U-verse TV through August 16, 2017, you can get a $100 AT&T Visa reward card. If you add a new Internet subscription to that you can get a $50 reward card. That is a deal you can stack and get up to $150 in reward cards.
