AT&T Opens a Physical “Entertainment Store” Promoting DIRECTV NOW

Watching tv and using remote controlAT&T is no stranger to owning stores. For years they have had stores promoting their wireless service. Now AT&T has opened their first “entertainment store” in Florida.

This 5,500-square-foot store has a new focus and will promote video services such as DIRECTV and DIRECTV NOW. The store still offers phones but now the focus is moving away from just selling phones.

“Our newest location showcases wireless, video and broadband working together to deliver the ultimate experience for our customers,” said AT&T Florida Vice President and General Manager Cristy Swink to the Patch.com.

According to AT&T, video traffic on the AT&T network grew by 75%. Now it looks like they want to capitalize on that growth with these new stores.

For now the only AT&T Entertainment Store is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Yet look for AT&T to expand this model if they find it to be a successful option for them.

So what will you find in an AT&T Entertainment Store?

Smartphones have been moved from the walls to the center of the store. And customer representatives have been trained to explain how DIRECT and DIRECTV NOW can add value to mobile customers.
